Wrestling Hall of Fame releases outstanding book

STILLWATER, Okla. - Hot off the presses, the National Wrestling Hall of Fame & Museum has just released The History of Collegiate Wrestling, a book by noted wrestling historian Jairus "Jay" Hammond.

"Jay has put together a wonderful book that tells the story not just of each season of collegiate competition but also of the people and personalities that have created this great sport of wrestling," said Lee Roy Smith, Executive Director of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame & Museum. "In addition to Jay's historical perspectives, some of the best wrestling writers in the country have contributed features to this book. We believe that you will find it to be an excellent resource for your own library or the perfect gift for your favorite wrestling fan."

The 400-page hardback book sells for $49.95 plus shipping and handling. Discounts will be offered on purchases of 12 books or more (10% off), 24 books or more (20% off), and 36 books or more (30% off). Shipping charges are additional.

Proceeds from the book will help the non-profit National Wrestling Hall of Fame & Museum achieve its mission of preserving the history of the sport and recognizing extraordinary individual achievement.

Here is what some of the legends of collegiate wrestling have to say about this book:

"Lots of interesting information and very motivating reading for anyone who has followed or is aspiring to make a mark in the sport of wrestling." -- Olympic champion and architect of Iowa's longtime wrestling dynasty, Dan Gable

"This book is not just a timeline of wrestling events, but a great adventure for former wrestlers, current wrestlers, and avid wrestling fans." - The first four-time NCAA Division I national champion, Pat Smith.

"This impressive book offers many personal stories and pictures of over 100 years of collegiate wrestling. It is very interesting and entertaining." - Olympic gold medalist and four-time undefeated NCAA Division I national champion, Cael Sanderson.
