Boumans and Heizer join coaching staff at The Overtime School of Wrestling

The Overtime School of Wrestling, located in Naperville, Ill., has hired 2000 U.S. Olympic Team Trials runner-up Kerry Boumans and 2004 NCAA runner-up Ben Heizer to an already acclaimed coaching staff.

"I am very excited to announce these two new coaches at The Overtime School of Wrestling. Our staff now numbers two full-time and three part-time wrestling coaches, along with a full-time strength/conditioning coach," stated Sean Bormet, who founded The Overtime School of Wrestling. "The dynamic range of what our coaching staff can offer to the wrestling community is our strongest and most distinguished teaching resource we have had yet."

Boumans and Heizer join a staff that includes former NCAA champion John Kading, former NCAA Championships qualifier Mike Castillo and Strength/Conditioning Coach Jason Patrick, a national powerlifting champion.

Boumans will become part of day-to-day operations at The Overtime School of Wrestling, while also coaching at outside events, national competitions and offer private training.

He won the U.S. Freestyle Nationals title at 127.75 lbs. in 2000 before losing in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials to eventual Olympic bronze medalist Terry Brands. In 2001, Boumans captured a gold medal at the World Cup.

He won NAIA national titles in 1993 and 1994 while wrestling at the Univ. of Mary.

Heizer won three Mid-American Conference titles while wrestling at Northern Illinois Univ. He was a two-time NCAA All-American, including his 2004 runner-up finish at the NCAA Championships.

Bormet established The Overtime School of Wrestling in March, 2001, a former U.S. Freestyle National Team member and collegiate coach at the Univ. of Michigan and the Univ. of Wisconsin.

With outstanding support from the wrestling community, kids clubs, and high school coaches over the last five years, Bormet has been able to assemble a premiere coaching staff, facility, and year-round training program for youth and high school wrestlers.

Since its inception, The Overtime School of Wrestling has produced 10 USA Wresting National Champions, 27 high school folkstyle state champions, 36 kids folkstyle state champions and 99 age-group freestyle state champions.
