By Gary Abbott USA Wrestling *09/16/2005* USA Wrestling received information that a wrestling leader in Virginia has placed an auction on EBay for a unique autographed wrestling mat, in order to raise funds for a prominent high school coach in New Orleans who lost his home in Hurricane Katrina. Available for bid on EBay is a wrestling mat sample signed by Gold Medalists Cael Sanderson, Rulon Gardner, Dan Gable, Kevin Jackson, Tom Brands and John Smith, plus Olympic Silver Medalist Matt Ghaffari, and World Champion Dremiel Byers. This can be bid on by visiting the following location on EBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5242567302 The message below is also included on the EBay auction posting: "We are trying to raise money for Mark Strickland and his family, including three children. Mark Strickland, head coach of Jesuit High School in New Orleans and former wrestler at Old Dominion University, has lost his home in the recent Hurricane Katrina. Mark was also named 2004 Wrestling USA Magazine's coach of the year.
