Billman of Lock Haven named EWL Wrestler of the Week

Our Eastern Wrestling League "Wrestler of the Week" for the week ended January 14, 2001, is Lock Haven University junior JAMARR BILLMAN. We are very proud of Coach Carl Poff's LHU Bald Eagles this week for their having won the team title at the nationally recognized Virginia Duals Tournament, held January 12-13, 2001, at Hampton, Virginia. Lock Haven hammered its way to the title, beating Old Dominion 40-9 in the first round, Rider 23-12 in the quarter finals, the Big Ten's Indiana University 26-18 in the semi finals, and Central Michigan 24-6 in the finals. Mr. Billman proved to be the spark-plug for the Bald Eagles, racking up 19 team points with two pins, one major and a decision. Billman is back! Congratulations to Jamarr Billman, our EWL Wrestler of the Week and to the Bald Eagles for their team championship at the Virginia Duals. Come on out and support college wrestling, the oldest and greatest sport on Earth!
