The United States had two champions and nine medalists at the 2012 Pan American Cadet Women’s Championships in Maracaibo, Venezuela on Saturday.

Capturing gold medals were:
• Marina Doi, Kingsburg, Calif. at 38 kg/83.5 lbs.
• Aleah LaFrancis, Vista, Calif. at 60 kg/132 lbs.

Doi was a 2012 Body Bar FILA Cadet National champion and will competing at the 2012 FILA Cadet World Championships.

Winning silver medals were
• Kim Cardenas, Staten Island, N.Y. at 43 kg/94.5 lbs.
• Amy Hou, Rome, Ga. at 46 kg/101.25 lbs.
• Cody Pfau, Parachute, Colo., at 49 kg/108 lbs.
• Areana Villaescusa, Rio Rico, Ariz. at 56 kg/123.25 lbs.

Hou was also a 2012 Body Bar FILA Cadet National champion and will competing at the 2012 FILA Cadet World Championships. Pfau and Villaescusa were second at the 2012 Body Bar FILA Cadet Nationals.

Claiming bronze medals were:
• Jasmine Bailey, Iowa City, Iowa at 52 kg/114.5 lbs.
• Alyssa LaFrancis, Vista, Calif. at 65 kg/143 lbs.
• Olivia Toth, Nashua, N.H. at 70 kg/154 lbs.

LaFrancis was also a 2012 Body Bar FILA Cadet National champion and will competing at the 2012 FILA Cadet World Championships. Bailey and Toth were second at the 2012 Body Bar FILA Cadet Nationals.

The USA placed second in the team standings with 87 points, behind host Venezuela with 94 points. Canada was third with 65 points.

The event concluded on Sunday with the men’s freestyle division. Initial reports indicate that the United States won the team title in men’s freestyle, with six gold medals, one silver medal and two bronze medals.
