USA Wrestling has begun the accreditation process for media to attend and cover major USA Wrestling national and international events held during 2006.

A media accreditation application has been developed, which allows the working media to apply for credentials for all of USA Wrestling's events for the year at one time. All journalists must do is check off the events that they wish to cover and they can apply for them all on one form.

The application has been sent via e-mail to many journalists, and can also be downloaded as a PDF file from USA Wrestling's official website, TheMat.com, at the following link:

The first event available for accreditation is the 2006 Dave Schultz Memorial International Championships, set for Colorado Springs, Colo., Feb. 3-4.

Accreditation is available for the international events held in the USA, along with the major national competitions on the Senior level, as well as all of USA Wrestling's age-group levels.

In addition, credentials for the World Team Trials events, which determine the U.S. teams for World Championships on the Senior and Junior levels, are also included on the form.

Journalists must apply prior to the posted deadline for each event. Application does not guarantee acceptance. USA Wrestling also provides a Media Credentials Regulations page to explain the procedures for application, as well as the process for credential acceptance.

Those with questions should contact Gary Abbott of USA Wrestling at 719-598-8181 or via e-mail at gabbott@usawrestling.org
