2013 Las Vegas/ASICS US OPEN WRESTLING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
APRIL 17-20, 2013 – LAS VEGAS CONVENTION CENTER
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA
The Las Vegas/ASICS US Open Wrestling National Championships will be in Las Vegas, Nevada, on April 17-20, 2013! Come see the nation’s best wrestlers compete in the city that never sleeps!
2013 World Team Trials Qualification
Men's Freestyle
• Past USA World/Olympic Teams member
• Top 3 from 2012 Olympic Trials
• Champion from a North American/Pan American FILA international competition - Senior Level – from July 1, 2012
up until the 2013 World Team Trials
• Top 7 per weight class from 2013 U.S. Freestyle National Championships
• Top 2 from the 2013 Freestyle University National Championships
• Champion 2013 Northern Plains Regional
• Top 3 place finish in an International Tour in Europe, Asia, Cuba, which is approved by USAW National Coach –
Senior Level- within one year of 2013 World Team Trials.

• Wild-Card selection
There will be a maximum of 5 athletes allowed into the 2013 World Team Trials through the Wild-Card
process. The National Freestyle Coach will take petitions for Wild-Cards at the conclusion up until four
calendar days of the Northern Plain Regional (the final domestic qualifying event).
**The National Freestyle Coach will recommend individuals based on competitive readiness, injury, illness,
and the ability to be competitive internationally for Wild-Cards to a three person committee. The committee
will then either approve or deny each Wild-Card nominee individually. The three person committee will consist
of the Chair of the Men’s Freestyle Sport Committee, an Athlete representative and a member appointed by
USA Wrestling**
• NCAA Division I Champion NCAA Champion must participate in either the 2013 Freestyle US Open or the
University National Championships
Greco-Roman
• Past World/Olympic Teams member
• Top 3 from 2012 Olympic Trials
• Champion from a North American/Pan American FILAinternational competition - Senior Level – from July 1, 2012 up
until the 2013 World Team Trials
• Top 7 per weight class from 2013 U.S. Greco-Roman National Championships
• Top 2 from the 2013 University Greco-Roman National Championships
• Champion 2013 Northern Plains Regional
• *Top 3 place finish in an International Tour in Europe, Asia, Cuba, which is approved by USAW National Coach –
Senior Level- within one year of 2013 World Team Trials.

• NCAA Division I top three, NCAA Division II Champion, NCAA Division III Champion and the NAIA Champion.
*These individuals must participate in either the 2013 Greco-Roman US Open or the University National
Championships.
Women's Freestyle
• Past World/Olympic Teams member
• Top 3 from 2012 Olympic Trials-Top 2 from 2012 World Team Trials at the non-Olympic weights
• Champion from a North American/Pan American FILA international competition - Senior Level – from July 1, 2012
up until the 2013 World Team Trials
• Top 3 USA athletes from the 2013 WCWA National Championships
• Top 7 per weight class from 2013 U.S. National Championships
• Top 2 from the 2013 University National Championships
• Champion 2013 Northern Plains Regional
• *Top 3 place finish in an International Tour in Europe, Asia, Cuba, that is approved by USAW National Coach –
Senior Level- within one year of 2013 World Team Trials
