For all divisions, the current rules of FILA, with USA Wrestling modifications where applicable, will govern the event and the competition.

Cadets, and Juniors
Contestants are randomly drawn by computer. Wrestlers will be separated by state, town, and club. One (1) pool will be used for brackets with fewer than six (6) competitors and two (2) pools will be employed if there are six (6) or more entrants in any given weight class.

Bantams, Intermediate, Novice, Schoolboy, and Girls
Line bracketing with double elimination will be used for all Intermediate, Novice, and Schoolboy brackets. Wrestlers will be separated by state, town, and club (no seeding, separation only). Brackets with five (5) or less will compete in a round robin format.

In the Kids & Cadet Divisions, weights with two (2) competitors will wrestle two (2) out of three (3) to determine region champion.
