  • Rules & Bracketing

Contestants are randomly drawn by computer.

FILA Junior Division: Brackets with five (5) or less will use the nordic system (everyone wrestles everyone). The top two finishers in the bracket will compete in a best 2 out of 3 series match to determine the FILA Junior world team member, with the bout the top two finishers competed against one another during the nordic system counting as the first match in the best 2 out of 3 series.

Brackets with six (6) or more will use the two pool system. The winner of each pool will wrestle a best 2 out of 3 series to determine the Junior world team member.

Wrestlers from the same state will be separated. A true-second match will be used to determine the National Team Rankings for the FILA Junior age-group, if the 2nd and 3rd place winners have not previous met in the tournament. However, the true-second match WILL NOT effect the final tournament placement.

FILA Cadet Division: Brackets with five (5) or less will use the nordic system (everyone wrestles everyone). The top two finishers in the bracket will compete in a best 2 out of 3 series match to determine the FILA Cadet world team member, with the bout the top two finishers competed against one another during the nordic system counting as the first match in the best 2 out of 3 series.

Brackets with six (6) or more will use the two pool system. The winner of each pool will wrestle a best 2 out of 3 series to determine the FILA Cadet world team member.

The FILA Cadet division will be separated based on the following criteria:

Level One: National Cadet Division and above National Champion
Level Two: Previous Cadet National and above 2nd-8th place finisher.
Level Three: Wrestlers from the same state will be separated.

Schoolgirls, and Girls Divisions: One pool will be used for brackets with fewer than six (6) competitors and two pools will be employed if there are six (6) or more entrants in any given weight class. Wrestlers from the same state will be separated.
