Helen Maroulis named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week

Helen Maroulis (Rockville, Md./Sunkist Kids) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week.
Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.
Maroulis went a perfect 4-0 to lead the United States to a fourth-place finish at the World Cup women’s freestyle competition this past weekend in Ulan Baator, Mongolia.
Maroulis, a 2012 World silver medalist, defeated Japan’s Chiho Hamada 0-1, 1-0, 1-0 to complete her unbeaten weekend.
Maroulis also downed Kazakhstan’s Akziya Dautbayeva 1-0, 2-0, China’s Wengping Cong 1-0, 3-0 and Belarus’ Katsiaryna Hanchar 4-3, 4-3.
Maroulis wrestles collegiately for Simon Fraser University in Canada.
