HAVANA, Cuba – Two U.S. Greco-Roman wrestlers have won a medal so far at the Granma Cup this week.

Claiming a silver medal at Caylor Williams (Melbourne, Fla./YES Wrestling) at 96 kg/211.5 lbs. Williams, a member of the 2012 U.S. University World Team, is one of the top young stars

"Caylor Williams wrestled very well on his way to winning a silver medal,” said National Greco-Roman Coach Steve Fraser.

Capturing a bronze medal at 96 kg/211.5 lbs. was 2010 U.S. World Team member Jake Fisher (Minneapolis, Minn./Minnesota Storm).

Taking fifth at 120 kg/264.5 lbs. was Parker Betts (St Michael, Minn./Minnesota Storm).

"We had both younger and some vets on the team. As a whole we still need to prove a lot with our pummeling skills, attacks on our feet, and partere defense,” said Fraser. “All in all I hope guys are getting more experience wrestling some of the toughest Cubans and Pols that are here.”

The U.S. has been in Cuba for joint training with their Cuban hosts, as well as to compete in this high-quality international tournament.
