Penn State remains No. 1 in USA Today/NWCA/AWN Division I Coaches Poll

 The two-time defending NCAA Division I champions improved to 3-0 on the season after a 52-0 win over visiting Indiana on Sunday. The victory was the largest win for Penn State since 1983. The Nittany Lions garnered eight of 10 possible first-place votes to claim the top spot for the second week in a row.

Second-ranked Oklahoma State improved to 4-0 after weekend victories over Wyoming and Oklahoma. Minnesota remained in the third slot after victories over Northwestern and Oregon State. The Gophers rallied from a 15-6 deficit to beat the Beavers 21-18 on Saturday.

Ohio State was idle and remained at No. 4, while Iowa, ranked fifth, won its seventh dual of the year, topping visiting Lehigh 26-9 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena last Thursday.

Illinois, Missouri and Cornell remained ranked sixth through eighth, while the last two spots within the Top 10 saw movement after losses by Nebraska and Oklahoma over the weekend.

Central Michigan (5-2) moved up to ninth after a win against Buffalo, while Northwestern, despite the 33-7 loss at Minnesota, climbed into the 10 spot. Oregon State moved up four spots after splitting weekend duals against Minnesota and North Dakota State.

Nebraska was stunned by unranked Wisconsin 19-17 and fell from No. 9 to No. 14, while Oklahoma was upset by then No.-20 Wyoming before losing to second-ranked Oklahoma State in the annual Bedlam dual. Oklahoma fell six spots to No. 16, while Wyoming moved up three spots to No. 17.

Wisconsin re-entered the Top 25 as a result of its win over Nebraska. The Badgers (4-2) are ranked 23rd.
