The Douglas County Events Center was the location for a great turnout at USA Wrestling’s King of the Mountain tournament on Saturday. This was the second event in the Folkstyle Tour of America and the second year for this new Colorado-based tournament. Over 600 wrestlers from 17 states competed in bantam to middle school divisions.

On Friday night, the individual tournament was preceded by the Challenge Duals. This test event featured four youth teams from across the country. After three rounds of competition, Legends of Gold of South Dakota was declared the winner. Second place went to Sons of Thunder Academy from Colorado, third place went to Mettle Wrestling from Utah, and fourth place went to SCORE Wrestling from Colorado.
The individual tournament team champions were as follows: Bantam: Sons of Thunder Academy, Intermediate: Bear Cave Wrestling Club, Novice: Sons of Thunder Academy, and Middle School: Steel City Elite.

The Folkstyle Tour of America events host both regular divisions and true beginner divisions for wrestlers with less than two years of experience.
